Brewing Herbal Tea

Are you new to tea and would like to learn how to prepare loose-leaf tea? here are a few tips you can follow: 1. Heat Your Water Water is the basis of tea, and fresh, filtered water makes for a better cup and clean flavor. Fill your kettle with cold water and heat to just before boiling so that you don't "cook" the herbal tea. 2.  Measure Your Tea Use about one teaspoon of tea for every eight-ounce cup. Use an infusing basket or unbleached tea bags for whole leaf tea to brew in your cup or in a teapot. You can also use a strainer to remove the tea after it has brewed. This allows the leaves room to expand and float freely in the water. 3. Pour The Water Let your tea soak in the water for about 4 to 5 minutes, or to preferred taste. Be careful not to steep for too long or the tea will start to go bitter. You can also decant, or pour the tea to another pot to stop the brewing process once you get the the desired taste. 4. Enjoy Your Tea Remove the tea bag or infuser, or use a strainer for the leaves. Pour the hot tea into a cup and let it set for a moment. Sip. careful not to burn your mouth. Let the infusion please your palate. Enjoy the aroma, the taste notes and character. This is how you drink tea. 5. Take Your Tea to the Next Level (Optional) You can add various creams and sweeteners to really give your tea that personalized flavor. Experiment a little. We reccomend a little stevia sweetener and heavy cream or soy milk for a rich and smooth drink.
